We’ve got plenty of better things to be spending our time on, but we’ve had enough. Our beloved franchise has experienced a tailspin over the previous two decades and we need a fresh start. To make things very clear, we love our team. We don’t love our leadership.
Formal List of Grievances:
Submitted by the community**
- – Franchise has only gone downhill since the purchase in 2003.
- – Who’s idea was it to put “LA” in front of the name?
- – Longest active playoff drought in MLB, despite 5 years with Trout and Ohtani on the same roster.
- – 0 playoff wins in 15 years.**
- – Failing to put a winning team around the greatest player the game has seen: Mike Trout. We want better for Mike.
- – Continual unwillingness to invest in pitching. We need a solid rotation and 3 good arms out of the bullpen.**
- – Multiple, catastrophically bad contracts given to free agent signings at the sunset of their careers.
- – Poor draft selections and player development trends.
- – Lack of meaningful investment into the stadium and surrounding areas. “Oh wow, we got a big new screen. Now I can watch us miss the playoffs again but tell people we have the largest stadium screen in the MLB!”
- – Underwhelming fan experience at the stadium. Why do we not have the best OC restaurants and breweries represented at the park? I guess I’ll have helmet nachos again.
- – We have had ample opportunities to trade impact players at the deadline (in years that we were obviously not going to make the playoffs… ahem 2023) in order to boost our farm system. We rarely have taken advantage of these opportunities.
- – Terrible farm system for as long as we can remember.
- – Telling us they care about the fan base while rolling out teams that couldn’t compete for a playoff spot. If you only care about the bottom line, just tell us. **
- – Constant rotating door of GMs and Managers.
- – Subpar player conditions at Spring Training facility.
- – Trading prospects away for veteran players that are on their decline… and then cutting many of these veterans.
